Fundamentos de Ayurveda (Ayurvedic Principles) Offered in Mexico by Escuela de Ayurveda de California

Mexico DF, Mexico (PRWEB) April 06, 2013

Ayurveda is the traditional medicine of India. Ayurveda means in sanscrit "knowledge or wisdom of life." While a medical science, its scope enters into the realms of the spirit and the transformation of consciousness. It's fundamental philosophy is that disease is the end result of living out of harmony with our environment. In order to re-establish optimal health, one must discover where we are living out of harmony and then adopt a life style which brings us back into perfect harmony.

The Foundations course (Fundamentos de Ayurveda) is a 50 credit hours course and can be taken as a stand-alone course or as part of the Ayurvedic Massage and Body Therapy courses (including abhyanga). In order to complete the program, the student has to submit a series of reading comprehension questions and a variety of self-healing and self-exploration exercises.

The Ayurveda program in Argentina covers the following subjects:
Introduction to history, philosophy, mythology of Ayurveda (principios de Ayurveda)
Five element theory
Tridoshic theory
Sensory therapies
Ayurvedic psychology
Fundamentals of determining a client's constitution

Established in 1995, the Ayurvedic school is the longest running college offering professional training programs for the study of Ayurvedic Medicine in the West (Medicina ayurveda). The school offers a variety of shorter length workshops and seminars, and trains students to become Ayurvedic practitioners. The school also offers in Mexico City and throughout Mexico the "Educador de Salud Ayurveda" program, a year-long training program.
