New York, New York (PRWEB) April 17, 2013 </p><p> A Durham, North Carolina Bar and Grill increased dessert sales to unprecedented levels solely by advertising its offering on toilet paper.</p>
<p>Blue Note Grill is best known for its tasty barbeque and toe tapping blues music; less well known, however, is the restaurants appetizing dessert menu.</p>
<p>In an attempt to raise awareness about its dessert menu, the restaurant partnered with New York guerrilla advertising company Star Toilet Paper to devise a unique advertising campaign. Star Toilet Paper designed a coupon that could be downloaded via a scannable QR code, printed those digital coupons on bathroom tissue and then installed those rolls of bathroom tissue within the restaurant itself. </p>
<p>Within the span of a couple of months, dessert sales rose 71%, and the restaurant surpassed $ 1,000 in dessert sales for the first time in 16 months. Restaurant owner Bill Whittington stated: "We've been very pleased with the results. Our customers constantly ask about the product; its effective and a great conversation piece too".</p>
<p>When questions about the hygienic quality of the paper arise, Star Toilet Papers co-founder, Jordan Silverman, responds: Our product is made with a water-based solution that is gentle on skin and comfortable to use. It has been lab-tested to ensure its safety. </p>
<p>Started by Jordan Silverman, a recent graduate of the University of Michigan, and his brother Bryan, currently a student at Duke University, Star Toilet Paper is shaking up both the out of home advertising industry and the away from home bathroom tissue industry. By using printed toilet paper as a media platform for ads, coupons and digital media downloads, the company is able to both increase its advertising clients profits and reduce the operating costs of public facing businesses by providing them with free toilet paper.
