Fatbatt Fifty Helps Laptop Customers Shop For Better Battery Life

Blacksburg, VA (PRWEB) April 11, 2013

MiserWare, Inc. (http://miserware.com), the creator of FatBatt battery optimization software (http://fatbatt.com), is pleased to announce the launch of the FatBatt Fifty - a new list of the top fifty laptops with the best battery life per dollar, a measure they call the Mobility Metric. The Mobility Metric allows users to easily compare battery life when choosing a new laptop, helping customers to make more informed purchasing decisions.

MiserWare surveyed their social media audience, and found that 87% of respondents consider battery life an increasingly important determinant when purchasing a new laptop. But how can customers compare battery life across multiple machines and multiple vendors to make an informed decision on a mobility standpoint?

"We wanted to provide laptop customers with important information about battery life that is often hidden in spec sheets, buried in websites, or is simply not available," said Joseph Turner, one of the founders of MiserWare. "By comparing battery life versus price, consumers are best able to make the right decision."

The FatBatt Fiftys database compares over 450 currently available laptops, across 16 major laptop manufacturers, including Acer, Apple, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, and more. The list will be updated quarterly, and vendors and manufacturers are encouraged to update the data table values.

The FatBatt Fifty also introduces the Mobility Metric, an easily compared measurement for portable devices for our on-the-go society. In addition to comparing new laptop purchases, it can also be used to rank the benefit of hardware and software upgrades.

Mobility Metric = Battery life in hours / ( Laptop cost ($ ) / 100 )
