Burbank, CA (PRWEB) April 04, 2013 </p><p> The 168 Film Project (168) is a global competition in which teams are challenged to create a short film (10 min. or less) based on randomly selected scriptures in one week (168 hours) from any location.</p>
<p>Teams vie for up to $ 1 Million in cash and prizes (Presented by EchoLight Studios) to be awarded at the 168 Film Festival, August 8-10 at the Performing Arts Center in Glendale, CA. Entry fees are $ 348 (discounted until May) and include free Festival Passes and the chance to screen.</p>
<p>The 2013 jury includes Brian Bird, writer/producer, "When Calls the Heart;" Doug Butts, SVP of Programming at INSP; David L. Cunningham, director, "The Path to 9/11" and "To End All Wars" starring Kiefer Sutherland; Leilani Downer, writer "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air;" Bill Ewing, producer, "End of the Spear;" Gary Hall, SVP of Fox Television Post Production; Beverly Holloway, Casting Director who has worked with Jim Caviezel and Jon Voight; and Susana Zepeda, Sr. Director of Video Production at Fandango, NBCUniversal.</p>
<p>According to founder and director, John David Ware, Our jury has collectively been responsible for thousands of hours of stories that captivate us. From Fresh Prince to "24" and from Stuart Little to Spiderman, they are uniquely qualified to choose the winner.</p>
<p>Brian Bird is a film and television writer and producer. His TV writing/producing credits include more than 200 episodes of shows including "Touched by an Angel," "Evening Shade," "Step by Step" and "The Family Man." His movie writing/producing career includes "Not Easily Broken," "Saving Sarah Cain," "The Last Sin Eater," "Call Me Claus," "Bopha!" directed by Morgan Freeman and "Frisbee: The Life and Death of a Hippie Preacher."</p>
<p>Doug Butts is responsible for the overall supervision, creative development, production design, content acquisition and programming strategy of INSP and various media platforms of The Inspiration Networks. With more than 30 years of experience in television, Doug has served as the executive in charge for hundreds of hours of content. </p>
<p>Leilani Downer has written for several network television sit-coms including A Different World and Good News. She was Executive Story Editor for ABCs Growing Pains, and was a producer on Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Sister, Sister and Rewind. In addition, Leilani has written pilots for FOX, ABC and NBC. </p>
<p>Bill Ewing supervised the production of more than 100 feature films at Columbia Pictures, including Awakenings, A League of Their Own, Air Force One, Groundhog Day, Men in Black I & II, Stuart Little I & II, The Patriot, and Spiderman, which grossed $ 806 million worldwide. </p>
<p>David L. Cunningham (To End All Wars, The Path To 9/11, The Seeker) has produced and directed major motion pictures around the world independently and for studios such as 20th Century Fox, Disney, ABC, Goldcrest Films, Walden Media and many others. Cunninghams heritage in the faith community and background as an international filmmaker characterizes the filmmaker's unique perspective. </p>
<p>Beverly Holloway has worked in L.A. as a Casting Director for TV and feature film projects for over 15 years. Focusing primarily on independent films, Beverly has had the opportunity to work with some of the best actors in the industry, Jim Caviezel, Kelsey Grammer, James Woods, Jon Voight and James Garner. She served as Associate Producer on the Trade of Innocents starring Dermot Mulroney and Mira Sorvino.</p>
<p>Gary Hall is a writer/producer, who has worked with Stephen J. Cannell Prods, Warner Bros, and Castle Rock Entertainment. Gary wrote and produced the HBO feature "Stringer." He currently serves as Senior VP at 20th Century Fox Television, where he supervises all post-production for scripted network television, including "24," "The Simpsons," "Bones and Prison Break. </p>
<p>Susana Zepeda serves as Senior Director of Video Production at Fandango, NBCUniversal. Previously, she was Head of Creative at Disney Online Originals, where she oversaw creative planning, pre-production, production and post-production of all Disney Online Original Programming. As President of X-MEN Producer Ralph Winter's Winter Road Entertainment, she generated a slate of over fifteen films and had a first look deal at 20th Century Fox. She has worked with Martin Scorsese and Barbara De Fina. </p>
