GDT Provides Warmth for Those Affected by Hurricane Sandy

New York City, New York (PRWEB) April 01, 2013

Although Hurricane Sandy struck nearly five months ago, many New Jersey and New York

residents are still enduring hardship as if the storm happened this month. The damage

caused by Sandy is extensive and has destroyed homes and communities across the area.

With issues surrounding aid money distribution and insurance claims, there are some who

still do not have homes or schools their children normally attended.

As a longstanding member of the NYC community, a steam heating company known as GDT Associates Inc. recognized the overwhelming need for assistance and has been a part of the movement to restore heat to flood ravaged areas. From the time the storm hit to the present, the company has been working with emergency services contractors and proven to be a valuable asset in the recovery process.

Since heat is such a necessity for the health and well-being of victims, GDT was able to be very helpful. In the past two weeks, the steam heating company delivered vacuum-condensate systems to the Manhattan VA and Coney Island Hospital facilities. GDT has also provided condensate units utilized in public schools throughout lower Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island. Company technicians inspected and repaired vacuum and condensate units located at a number of apartment complexes in lower Manhattan including Peter Cooper Village / Stuyvesant Town as well.

To elaborate on his companys work in the wake of the storm, GDT's president Glenn Thompson said, "We are proud of the fact that emergency services contractors placed their

confidence in us to supply equipment and know how in this most difficult time.

GDT Associates Inc is a manufacturers representative established in 1986. Serving the NYC area, the company provides high-quality electromechanical equipment used to control, conserve, and enhance the flow of steam and condensate for the purpose of heat transfer. Since the companys early years, it has leveraged its combined 100 years of experience to supply and maintain equipment required for all sub-atmospheric steam heating systems.
